it is as clear as mud as to whether they are allowed in places like australia, usa and britain.. 17. what are some factors that may affect whether a brother wears a beard?17 what about the propriety of brothers wearing a beard?

Died Due To Refusing Blood Transfusion

well, last monday my mother, a jehovah's witness since her baptism in 1968 died last week because she would not accept a blood transfusion.

she was 76 and had lung and skin cancer.

i know that the cancer would have gotten her anyway, but she was bleeding internally, and was told that she needs a blood transfusion, as her blood count went all the way down to 3.2 (should be 12-14.

I will never understand how they think that suicide by refusing life saving blood would have god's favor. So sad.

Demon possesion, bunch of crap or?

i've been using the forum to vent and post a lot more frequently lately as a venting purpose & way to obtain peace of mind with the craziness i've been going through recently as i fade away form the org.

anyways today i'm sitting here at work and thinking to myself about demons... ok i know this sounds crazy but has anyone else out there been traumatized by the thought of demons?

i had a dream the other night, just flat out spooky and i woke and couldn't help but feeling it may have been evil ole' satan and his demons at it again.. i don't want to believe that, (trying not to, & just brushing it under the rug so to speak) but have any of you out there been talked up about demons?

When you learn about your brain chemistry you will find your answer. Fear and anxiety manifests in many ways, one way is in dreams, another is superstition. The JW's feed that fire. Actively control your anxiety by changing input into your unconscious. Don't worry, Be happy.

let me start by saying that this forum has been helpful to me in many ways.

i haven't gotten involved in much commenting and i am not very assertive by nature so i've steered away from participating in debates.

but i have read threads often and had a sense of community.

The taking of offense is with the foolish ones.. or something like that. Its just not worth the energy to be petty. I am not afraid of asserting my opinion but in the end that's all it is. Put away the clubs everyone and lets just do the warm fuzzy waltz. No sarcasm intended.

I'm getting baptized

i know i've started similar topics before but this time i'm serious.

my parents have been constantly pressuring me and after yesterday's watchtower study they asked me if i was going to be baptized this summer... and i said yes.

i probably should have thought about it more before making a final decision, but they're pretty much forcing me to do it anyway.

Jehalapeno nailed it, answer some big questions wrong. Be confused about the Sabbath, maybe bring up the two witness rule and the Royal Commission. It sounds like you are young enough to get away with such doubts. Be concerned about the generation not making sense and how you have a hard time accepting it. Maybe you need more time to study up on it. Maybe ask one of the brothers to study it with you and you could try the questions again next cycle.

i'm a postman with the royal mail and was assigned to train a new starter yesterday.

my line manager introduces me to 'dave', within seconds my jw radar was on maximum!

in his mid to late 30's, politely spoken and with that haircut - i just knew it.. the post he'd applied for was saturdays only, he said he did a lot of volunteer work.
